Margaret has experience as a company accountant, chartered accountant, financial controller and marketing manager. Margaret has worked for many multi-nationals including NZ Sugar, L’Oréal of Paris, SC Johnson and Smith Kline Beecham. She then transitioned to being a sales trainer across NZ, Australia and South Africa. The sales training led to 11 years as a risk insurance sales contractor followed by B2B sales.Margaret has many years’ experience raising finance for her family subdivision business. Subdividing entailed working with project managers and civil engineering companies building roads, obtaining council signoffs, poring through legal contracts and working with real estate agents selling the many homes she has renovated.Margaret studied speech and drama, trained as a life coach with NZIC and has coached people setting up their own businesses.Outside of work Margaret’s accounting background allows her to carry out voluntary honorary audits. Margaret’s a voracious reader and podcast listener, enjoys auto-biographies and travelling to countries to learn about other cultures. With pride, she follows her three adult children’s business adventures. Margaret has served as PTA Chair, a school fundraiser and advocated in the natural therapies space.This wide work experience has led Margaret to FIRST National to share her practical skills with others and help “put you first”.
